Popular Narrow Fabric Weaving Methods

2015-3-5 15:55:27

1. Plane weave: It requires heald frames in even numbers. If there are a few warp ends, two heald frames

and two chain board lines are enough. If there is a lot of warp ends, it is only necessary to increase the heald

frames and chain boards, drafting is same.

Chain board arrangement:

Heald draft:

A. two pieces of heald frames

B. four pieces of heald frames

2. Twill weave: The number of heald frames for twill weave is the sum of fraction numerator and

denominator. E.g. the heald frames for 1/3 is 1+3=4. The draft sequence for right-hand twill and left- hand

twill is opposite and forms opposite diagonal.

Chain board arrangement:

Heald draft:

A. right-hand twill

B. left-hand twill

3.  Herringbone weave: The basic of herringbone weave is twill weave, only have some change at drafting.

After half warps are drawn, when draw another half warps drafting heald frame sequence is opposite to the

front half. If the 24th warp is drawn into the heald in which is same heald frame with the 23th warp, this is

topless herringbone. If the 24th warp are drawn into the heald in which is same heald frame with the 22th

warp, this is spire herringbone.

Chain board arrangement:

Heald draft:

A. topless herringbone

B. spire herringbone

4. Elastic narrow fabric: To draft rubber or covered yarn to the first frame and second and third frame with warp.

Chain board arrangement:

Heald draft:

5. Hollow weave:

Chain board arrangement:

Heald draft:

6. Covered weave: Draft core-spun yarn into the first heald frame and the thickness of core-spun are decided according

to fabric demands.

Chain board arrangement:

Heald draft:

Note:

in Chain Board Arrangement:

X: means chain board is low, and heald frame is up

O: means chain board is high, and heald frame is down

in Heald Draft:

X: means drawing warp yarn into the heald, e.g. in the chart 1, 2, 3, 4, 5……, means from the 6th warp yarn repeating

the front 5 pieces of warp yarn drawing-in method, means also the 6th warp yarn is same with the first one, and such like.
